Manicure, gel polish or nail extensions?
The three are not the same. Which suits you in terms of time, wear and effect on the nail?
These are the three treatments people mix up most. The price and the time differ, but the real difference is what they do to your nail.
Manicure
Shaping, cuticle care and regular polish if you want it. Thirty minutes. Nothing is applied to the nail itself and the surface is not filed. It is the right choice when you want to give your nails a rest. Regular polish lasts three to four days.
Gel polish
About forty-five minutes, lasting two to three weeks. It uses your own nail length and only lightly buffs the surface. The most practical option for everyday life; washing up, cleaning and typing do not wear it down.
Nail extensions
Ninety minutes, with an infill every three to four weeks. They add length if your nails are short or keep breaking. In return the nail surface is worked on more; taking a few weeks off between sets helps the nail recover.
How to choose
If your nails are healthy and length is not an issue, gel polish is enough for most people. If you want length for a special occasion, extensions make sense. If the nail surface has thinned or breakage has started, a period of plain manicures is the best move. At the salon we look at your nails and decide together.
