When should you book your bridal hair trial?
Choosing the right day for the trial removes the surprises on the wedding morning. Notes on timing and preparation.
The sentence we hear most often about bridal hair is: "The wedding is in a week, can we do a trial?" We can, but that is not the ideal moment.
Two to four weeks before
Two to four weeks ahead is the most balanced window. If something does not work, there is still time to change it; and if the colour or length needs adjusting, it has time to settle.
How to come to the trial
Come with hair washed the day before. Freshly washed hair is slippery and holds a style poorly. Bring your veil, tiara or clips if you have them; accessories change how the hair sits far more than most people expect.
The neckline decides the style
A high neckline and a strapless dress do not carry the same updo. A photo of the dress on your phone is enough. Show us your earrings too, the two are considered together.
Allow enough time on the day
Bridal hair takes about ninety minutes on average, with make-up and dressing on top. Working backwards from the ceremony and leaving a generous margin is the easiest good decision of the day. We measure that time together at the trial so nobody is guessing on the morning.
